Boring

I have decided that my life here is unbelievably boring. Isa and I go to the library every other week and do the laundry at least once a week. Other than that she doesn't see other kids much. Well, church I guess but in Boone we were always going somewhere. It's not that I am sitting at home thinking about how great it would be to have more friends. I don't really care. I actually prefer to be alone. I know, I know, it's not "healthy". It's just that I have friends, great friends and I don't really want more. I know there are people who want me to blossom and realize how great it is out here. Here is the thing. It's not. The only people I really get along with are people who hate it here too. Even then all we talk about is how annoying it is here.

I am perfectly content to sit at home and clean or read. On an up note our house has never been cleaner. I only go out when Isabella starts to freak out. That is my only driving factor. Even though I want to stay inside I can't make Isa. She loves to be outdoors and with other kids so I try to go and take her somewhere as often as I can.

I guess the bottom line is that people try and tell me that I should get out and do things so I will feel better. The thing is I don't feel bad. I think I should but I don't. I only feel bad when I go out.

Here Dad.

Any play groups that you can take Isabella to and meet up with other mothers? Or maybe you could take another pottery class, or some other class, at night while Josh babysits. When my kids were little I was always taking some class, at least once a week. After 15 years I finally got my two year degree.

yeah it is elizabeth. she is a doctor. all her tools are in the pockets of the lab coat.

the thing is i don't want to meet any other moms. i don't want to try and maintain a relationship with someone.

A few more weeks of this, and you will be ready to start playing World of Warcraft.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. She is adorable, and you are okay too. Just a side point, a father cannot babysit his own child. Taking a class of your own is a great idea. I could use some good pottery, especially bowls for my cereal and a special mug in a large size for much good chocolate.

I certainly don't expect you to love it there, but I don't know how long you will be perfectly content with unbelievable bordome.

Hating Utah doesn't have to become the front-line element of your character. There are other, much more interesting things about you. Also, you don't know that the people who aren't complaining don't feel exactly as you do about Provo. Maybe they hate it too, but have gotten bored with rehashing the same old same old gripes, and would rather talk about something else, like the drugs they sold in highschool or their husband's addiction to S&M/gay/child pornography. You never know what you will find when you talk to someone, especially once you stop talking about hating it there.

Oh dear--I really don't intend to lecture you. I remember with great clarity how painful utah was for me. If I could just give you my coming-to-terms with it, I would. I know its tough. Hang in there.
